Even though it does not rise to the level of adversity the people in my book faced and overcame, I have my own personal story of adversity where I utilized the same tools they did to overcome my biggest challenge in life. On March 13, 2018, I tipped the scales at 288 pounds. I was on blood pressure medicine, stopped breathing for short periods of time during the night, and was always tired and sore due to the excess weight I was carrying. Through proper diet, exercise, and a change in mindset, 17.5 months later, on September 27, 2019, I reached my target weight of 188 pounds, am no longer on any medications, and am feeling the best I have ever felt.
